New Gear from LaChapell Audio - Introducing the 983S MK2 and 983M!

It’s hard to believe but the LaChapell Audio 992 is 20 years old this year. LaChapell Audio's got a number of things planned for 2019 to celebrate 20 years of making great gear and they thought that the best way to celebrate the 992 is to launch two new products. Well, maybe one and a half!

The first product is the a revamped version of the 983S and it is called the… LaChapell Audio 983S MK2. There is one major difference and two minor differences between the two. The major difference is that they are rolling out True48, a dynamic phantom power supply. True48 doesn’t vary as the source varies like most phantom power supplies. And it supplies a true 48V (see what they did there) to even power hungry mics. This makes recordings more even and detailed with more headroom. The 983S MK2 also has improved sonic performance and an additional LED in the meter section.

The second product is based on the 983S but is a we are calling the LaChapell Audio 983M, a half rack sized single channel tube preamp that is perfect for small studios, podcasting, voice overs, and session musicians. LaChapell Audiowill have rack mounting kits available as well.
