Introducing the New WA76 Compressors from Warm Audio! Warm Audio has just announced four new Warm Audio WA76 Compressors! There are two new single channel models, the Warm Audio WA76-D Compressor and the Warm Audio WA76-A Compressor. Both of these are also available in a two-channel version! The two-channel versions are the Warm Audio WA76-D2 Compressor and the Warm Audio WA76-A2 Compressor.

Let's start with the Warm Audio WA76-D Compressor and the Warm Audio WA76-D2 Compressor. These are the successors to the original WA76 Compressor from Warm Audio. This new version is also based on the classic 1176 revision D compressor but has some improvements and modern features including a swappable high-pass filter sidechain knob as well as a mix knob to blend in the compression to your taste. WA76-D uses custom large-core, CineMag input & output transformers. The transformers inside the WA76-D compressors use the exact same spec data and materials used by Reichenbach Engineering in the original vintage designs known for delivering rich analog tone to any signal chain. It also uses premium ceramic & electrolytic capacitors, metal film resistors, and a revised preamp stage, improving the linear response of the FET. These key components complete a circuit that cuts no corners in delivering an authentic “cleaner, low noise” 76-style compression experience.

Now, let's talk about the other new additions to the Warm Audio family of compressors, the Warm Audio WA76-A Compressor and the Warm Audio WA76-A2 Compressor! The WA76-A compressors are based on the classic blue stripe 1176 that's been made famous by engineers like Chris Lord Alge. It's a vintage-voiced FET compressor with added features to meet modern recording workflows. Recreating the lauded original vintage “Blue Stripe” version of the 76 compressor known for its extra “grabby” fast attack and vintage analog grit, the WA76-A offers the ideal blend of vintage circuitry and modern controls to deliver ultimate flexibility without sacrificing vintage analog character. It's a great compressor to add analog grit to lead vocals, bass, and drums. With the two-channel version, you have a pair for a stereo drum application or your stereo harmony bus!
