Introducing the new Soyuz Microphones 1973 Microphone at Front End Audio!

Soyuz Microphones has just released the new Soyuz Microphones 1973 Microphone and Soyuz Microphones 1973 Microphone (Black)! Front End Audio was lucky enough to get a pair of these microphones in early to demo and we were blown away. Especially once we saw the retail price!

The 1973 is a high-end yet affordable LDC microphone that features a handmade capsule and world-class build quality. Like the other mics in the Soyuz family, the 1973 is neither a copy nor a clone but rather a “modern classic”. It was developed and built in the old fashioned way: in-house with maximum attention to detail and no corners cut.

The Soyuz Microphones 1973 is a gorgeous sounding microphone. It has a forward midrange without any harsh and unwanted resonances. This is thanks to the built-in resonator that also helps to minimize abrasive plosives. We love the 1973 microphone for guitars and vocals. With sources like acoustic guitar, piano, or drum overheads, a stereo pair would be fantastic. Soyuz doesn’t cut corners, even with their more affordable microphones and the 1973 is proof. The body and capsule are completely hand-machined, and it features a version of Soyuz’s original S23 Capsule found in the 023 Bomblet Microphone. If you’re looking for a great workhorse microphone that won’t break the bank, check out the Soyuz 1973! It’s one of our new favorites at this price point.
