Audix Fireball High Performance Harmonica Microphone

Audix Fireball High Performance Harmonica Microphone

Audix Fireball Details
The FireBall is a dynamic microphone specifically designed for the professional harmonica player and it is well-suited for both chromatic and diatonic harmonicas. With its sleek styling and unique design, the FireBall is CNC machined at the Audix factor in Wilsonville, Oregon out of a solid bar of aircraf grade aluminum. The final look is achieved with a elaborate three stage anodizing process, givin every microphone its own distinctive look Featuring a dent resistant grill ball with a deep re internal pop filter, each FireBall is attractively laser etched with its name and serial number.

While the contour the FireBall is designed to fit comfortably within the palm of the hand, there is a full-sized dynamic capsule within to provide big, full-bodied sound. Featuring VLM (Very Low Mass) capsule technology developed by Audix during the early 1990's, the FireBall is very clean and accurate, resistant to feedback, and capable of handling sound pressure levels in excess of 140 dB without distortion.

Even more astonishing is the ability of the FireBall to maintain its high quality sound reproduction even while the artist is cupping the grill ball. While this type of cupping action is necessary for style and effect, it can often cause the microphone to "boom out" or become muddy and distorted. Not so with th FireBall - it will operate as if it's in an open air environment, even under the most demanding conditions

The FireBall is characterized with a smooth and uniform frequency response of 50 Hz - 16 kHz and and a cardioid polar pattern, allowing it to focus on the particular instrument that is being miked without picking up other instruments or ambient noise on stage.

    Microphone Mount for Accordion Amplification

Posted by Gerhard Albinus on Oct 22nd 2014

It is small and light weight. Great feedback rejection. Frequency response for "live" gig. Accordion sounds real Beefy. Detachable XLR cable. No phantom power required. No shock mounted needed. Very good internal shock mount, usually I usually have to shock mount the microphones mounted to the Accordion, but not with the Fireball. No discernable handling noise, only the reed sounds of the Accordion.
I believe Audix being Taiwanese? ( does assemble the Fireball "not the Fireball V" in the USA )
