Explore Vintage Studio Equipment
The Orion 32+ | Gen 3 features a suite of essential effects from Antelope Audio’s vast library of FPGA FX models. Customers can purchase additional effects as they deem fit, as well as invest in the AFX2DAW software bridge which lets them use on-board processed, low-latency effects as inserts in their preferred digital audio workstation.

64-CHANNELS OF AUDIO VIA THUNDERBOLT
Orion 32+ | Gen 3 provides seamless connectivity to any DAW, with low-latency, simultaneous streaming of 64 channels of 24-bit, 192 kHz audio via ThunderboltTM and 32 channels via USB. The analog I/O are handled by 8 DB25 connectors and a pair of TRS connectors for monitoring. Digital connectivity options are complemented by ADAT and S/PDIF.

EXTENSIVE FLEXIBILITY
Orion 32+ | Gen 3 offers extensive flexibility for excellent productivity. A color-coded software routing matrix with four separate mixers, effects chaining, and zero latency monitoring is provded. The routing matrix, mixers, and control panel are found within an intuitive desktop application for macOS and Windows.

HIGH-END CLOCKING & CONVERSION
Digital clarity meets analog musicality to form the signature Antelope Audio sound. Our proven clocking accuracy is ensured by Antelope’s renowned 64-bit Acoustically Focused Clocking (AFC) jitter management technology. A 10 MHz input enables connectivity to Antelope’s legendary 10M Atomic Clock and its successor 10MX. That, and a pair of word clock outputs make the Orion 32+ | Gen 3 a great fit in any setup - not just as an interface, but as a premium master clock as well.

REDESIGNED SOFTWARE PANEL
Control all Orion 32+ | Gen 3 features and functionality from its intuitive desktop app. macOS and Windows compatible, it implements Antelope Audio’s networking control concept to let you access the interface from multiple computers in the same network. Updated review after nine months
    Jerry Burkette

I wanted to update my review on this interface, as I've been using it fairly constantly since early in the year. It continues to be a rock-solid performer, even on USB. I have no problems getting the full 32 i/o set of channels, and the unit does all the conversion duties for the studio. In the earlier review I talked about updates (launcher, etc.) and the control panel. I'm happy to report that my niggles with this system have been sorted by Antelope. The launcher no longer requires updates - it allows you to choose the timing for applying those. In addition, the control panel is re-sizable now (and is more easily usable as a result). I've also had great luck using the on-board effects as hardware inserts while mixing. Simply route your mix channels outs to "AFX in", sort your effects, and then route your "AFX out" to where you need it to be seen by your DAW. Very nice effects and superb integration - even without the AFX2DAW plugin implementation (available only for Mac at this point). I prefer the "hardware-like" integration anyway for mixing. There is a growing crowd of 32+ 3rd gen. users - none of which, to my knowledge, is unhappy. This is an outright winner by Antelope all around.

    Orion 32+ 3rd Gen review
    Jay Burkette

I think I may have been one of the first in the nation to purchase the new 3rd gen. Orion 32+. So far, it has been a fantastic addition to the studio. I'm connecting via USB2 to one of the studio computers (as an interface), and it is connected by MADI to a RME UFX+ in conjunction with the main mixing computer. In both capacities it has been functioning superbly. The conversion is super transparent. Of note, I previously used Lynx Aurora units for studio conversion, and this unit's chips are every bit as transparent while maintaining an unbelievable amount of headroom for both AD/DA conversion levels. Support has been very responsive and helpful as well. As a result of the experience, we've purchased a Zen Studio + as well for the mobile recording rig. Every review needs an "other" column, and if there's something that I'd like improved, it would be the control panel/launcher combination. I think updates should be something I ask for - not something the launcher puts "front and center" every time its opened. Additionally, the control panel takes some "getting used to" when compared to, for example, total mix or other interface mixers. It's fun and it works - but it's also a bit garish and confusing at the same time. All in all, the unit is a winner. I'm quite happy with our computers right now, so I'll not be updating to a thunderbolt compatible system for some time. That said, this unit will make that transition quite easy when the time comes.
