Created in an official collaboration between Warm Audio and legendary British console manufacturer Sound Techniques, the Stereo Jude uses the original preamp circuit developed for the Sound Techniques "A-Range" consoles found at London's Trident Studios. With dual-discrete Class-A amplification, custom CineMag transformers, and the original Z-Match impedance design, Stereo Jude gives engineers a remarkably flexible way to add classic console color to vocals, guitars, drums, piano, stereo microphone setups, and more. At the heart of the Stereo Jude are two channels based directly on Geoff Frost's original Sound Techniques console preamp design. Rather than simply capturing the general flavor of a vintage British preamp, the circuit preserves the original signal path, including the dual-discrete 3035 Class-A amplifier architecture and distinctive impedance-matching system. Premium Wima and Nichicon audio-grade capacitors, carbon resistors, and custom-wound CineMag input and output transformers help maintain the response and character intended by the original design. One of Stereo Jude's most creative features is its Z-Match impedance tone control. Derived from the original Sound Techniques impedance-matching circuit, Z-Match changes the interaction between the connected microphone and preamp, providing multiple tonal possibilities depending on the microphone being used.
