The Pearlman TM-2 Tube Microphone is the answer to the many requests to offer a smaller, more affordable version of the TM-1. The TM-2 was designed to fit around a drum set and into small spaces and is a great tool in the studio for acoustic instruments as well as for recording vocals.
Premium Components
The mic is built around a military spec 6AK5 (EF95) pentode and uses the same basic point to point circuit as the TM-1 with a few small differences. The TM-2 uses a 34mm American made capsule and comes with all the same “case candy” as all the PEARLMAN mics; power supply, shockmount, hand made cable, and complimentary aluminum carrying case.
Hand Built, Not Manufactured
Each Pearlman Microphone is hand-built by Dave Pearlman himself in small batches, right here in the USA. These are not factory-produced microphones - they are individually crafted instruments, assembled with care and tuned by ear to deliver the signature Pearlman sound that engineers and artists around the world love. Because of this boutique, hands-on process, no two Pearlman microphones look exactly alike. You may notice slight tooling marks, finish variations, or other small cosmetic differences from unit to unit. One of the best microphones available
Jun 8th 2020I have two of these Pearlman TM-2 microphones and they sound great on overheads and vocals. I have a tenor voice and the TM-2 is voiced a tad brighter than the TM-1 which compliments my vocals quite nicely. Although this microphone is a little brighter than the TM-1, it still retains the low mid body that I love.
