It's OK
Apr 24th 2012The mic bar is really useful. I have used it and intend to continue using it. The center hole was sripped and did not hold the threads of the mic stand. It could be that the hole was slightly too large or that the metal is a bit thin. Whatever the case may be, I am a tinkerer and I simply put a nut on both sides of the bar to clamp it securely to the stand. I used it with the Avenson STO-2's and I sure as hell didn't want them falling from my 4 meter Arri stand while recording a live concert. So my rate is that it is adequate, but needs some improvement in QC and I would not recommend using it without securing the center hole with an extra nut - one on the bottom and one on the top.
