The IGS NE573 500-Series Preamp is a classic transformer microphone preamp amp with pure class A design. It takes the design and sound of the classic Neve 1073, and packs it into a single channel 500-Series clone that is as faithful to the original design as possible.

The IGS NE573 500-Series Preamp is not just the big red knob. Matching components, old architecture, original Motorola transistor, same great sound! Now in your 500 series rack. Switchable impedance and buffered instrument make it an ultimate workhorse for your studio. The IGS NE573 is your classic transformer microphone preamp amp with pure class A design.

Front Panel
The IGS NE573 500-Series Preamp's identical front panels and knobs are not rocket science, as the outside is the easiest thing to replicate. The true beauty of the IGS NE573 is in the circuit. The unit is operating using 24 volts, with IGS's own custom transformers on inputs and outputs, Grayhill switches and Motorola transistor on the output stage- just like the very first version of the original pre. The IGS NE573 500-Series Preamp is responsible for some of the best records ever!

    I have followed the white rabbit and I am in 500 series wonder land - I'll review 2 tubes (F609 and Retro 500 PRE) and 2 1073s (IGS NE573 and Golden Age PRE-573) 100% Honest when I placed my order for my first set of 4 500 series pres I did not realize I had two 1073 clones in my cart but the comparison be tween both is interesting. The IGS is solid feeling and has a nice weight to it everything about this unit says quality. The comb jack is a welcome add. The sound is extremely pleasing and little forward. I have used this on the Kick front and as a DI and both sounds have been winners. Very happy with this purchase.

    This unit does exactly what it's advertised to do. I have never used a real NEVE so I can't state how similar it sounds to one but it sounds fantastic. I recorded my RODE NTK that had been collecting dust the last few years and it sounded WAY more expensive. Great modern vocal sound.

The IGS NE573 makes a statement the moment you pick it up — this thing is heavy. While installing it in the rack and putting it to work in the studio, it was immediately clear that IGS didn’t cut any corners here. The knobs and switches feel solid and deliberate, the stepped controls are satisfyingly chunky, and the whole module just feels built to last. Add in the Carnhill input and output transformers, and you know right away this preamp means business. Once we started tracking through it, the sonic goal became obvious: authenticity. The NE573 delivers that familiar, unmistakable tone we all associate with classic British console pres — rich, punchy, and musical, with weight and presence in all the right places. Knowing Carnhill’s lineage traces directly back to the St Ives transformers used in the original designs only reinforces what you hear coming back through the monitors.
