Is the modification permanent?
No. The modification is fully reversible. If you ever decide to return your microphone to its original configuration, the stock handle can be reinstalled using the same connection points.
Which color is the most popular?
Orange and Yellow are by far the most popular choices among Front End Audio customers. The Orange Personality is favored by engineers looking for a warmer, fuller, more vintage-inspired character, while the Yellow Personality is a favorite for snare drums, guitar cabinets, percussion, and other sources that benefit from additional punch and presence. Many customers eventually purchase multiple/all personalities so they can tailor their microphone to different recording situations.

Yes. The modification is designed to be straightforward and requires only a few simple solder connections. Many customers choose to purchase the handle and perform the installation themselves.
Do I need any special tools to install the handle?
No specialized equipment is required. A basic soldering iron, solder, and common hand tools are typically all that's needed for installation. If you'd prefer not to modify yourself, Front End Audio can build the microphone for you.
