JZ Microphones - A Short History of JZ Microphones

The Founder
During the 1970s and preceding the establishment of JZ Microphones, thier founder Juris Zarins honed his skills as a jeweler, meticulously repairing intricate items like watches and customary trinkets including rings. However, what set him apart was his unique ability to mend microphones. These devices demanded utmost precision due to their numerous delicate connections and precise placement of components. Additionally, the microphone's capsule itself was exquisitely fragile and adorned with a delicate layer of gold, making Zarins' expertise as a jeweler an ideal fit for this specialized craft. During the time he was working on these microphones, Latvia was still part of the Soviet Union. This made it extremely challenging to acquire microphones in general, so the prevailing practice was to repair them as they were scarce. As a jeweler, Zarins pondered that if he couldfix microphones why couldnt he create them? And thus began his journey to learn how to build microphones from scratch. However, during that period in the 80s, there were only three manufacturers worldwide producing capsules for condenser microphones. As mentioned earlier, obtaining microphones during that time was difficult due to global circumstances. Nevertheless, he believed that if he could solve the mystery of making capsules...

Where JZ Microphones is Today
Fast-forwarding a bit, Juris successfully cracked the code for producing capsules and thus founded his initial venture, Blue Microphones, circa 1998. With great determination, he embarked on creating a range of microphones that would eventually establish themselves as some of the most renowned in existence. Among our current array of JZ Mics products stands one notable design derived from this era – the BB29 Microphone; an innovative reimagining based on the original Blueberry microphone. In 2007, he finally sold Blue Microphones to a US party. However, he didn't stop there and went on to establish another company called Violet Microphones. This new venture gave birth to the beloved Amethyst Microphone, which has now been rebranded as JZ Microphones. Today, JZ Microphones is still thriving after 15 years of official existence, but the journey of technological advancements and innovation started long before that.

So in conclusion, JZ Microphones has established itself as a reputable and innovative company in the world of professional audio equipment.
