Paired with Slate Digital’s industry-leading VMS software, the ML-2A allows engineers to capture clean, neutral recordings and audition classic and modern microphone models directly inside their DAW, even after tracking.

The ML-2A ships as a precision-matched pair, complete with a stereo mounting bar, making it ideal for X/Y, ORTF, spaced pair, and on-location stereo recording techniques. Whether you’re tracking drums, acoustic instruments, guitar cabinets, orchestral sources, or room mics, the ML-2A adapts effortlessly to the session. Designed for demanding environments, the ML-2A handles extreme sound pressure levels—up to 156 dB SPL—thanks to a built-in -20 dB pad, while the 80 Hz low-cut filter helps control low-end rumble at the source. Ultra-low self-noise ensures detailed, transparent capture, allowing the VMS software to accurately recreate the character of iconic microphones ranging from classic dynamics and ribbons to revered condensers.

The included Virtual Microphone System plug-in gives users access to 27 microphone models at launch, with more added over time via software updates.
