The Black Lion Audio Auteur 8DAT Preamp brings eight channels of boutique Auteur preamp tone, premium conversion, and rock-solid clocking into one studio-ready 2U unit.

It is built for engineers who need more high-quality inputs without sacrificing character, clarity, or workflow flexibility. The Auteur 8DAT gives you eight Cinemag transformer-equipped mic preamps that can stay clean and fast at lower gain settings or deliver added weight, color, and saturation when pushed. With ADAT output, analog XLR outputs, front-panel Hi-Z/Line inputs, and DB25 send/return connectivity, it is equally comfortable expanding an interface, feeding a console, or integrating outboard processing into a modern tracking rig. Black Lion Audio also equipped the Auteur 8DAT with patented Macro-MMC clocking, BNC word clock I/O, and high-quality conversion inspired by its Revolution interface design. The result is a versatile 8-channel preamp, ADAT expander, and word clock solution designed to help your entire recording system perform with better sync, lower jitter, and excellent signal integrity.
