The ADK Vienna 12 T-FET Pro Edition Microphone is the same microphone as the ADK standard 12 T-FET but with upgraded accessories and tweed case.  The ADK 12 T-FET brings a brilliant shimmering clarity to your tracks. The lifted top and upper mids provide a clear, detailed, and airy presence, that allows your tracks to cut through - yet maintain a natural and musical sound. All this is supported by a full mid/low mid, and a rolled off bottom that's perfect for stringed instruments, drum overheads, and vocals.

The ADK Vienna 12-T-FET Microphone is the most brilliant of all ADK Custom Shop FET microphones. It has an almost effervescent high-end. It is a tri-polar microphone with selectable Cardioid, Figure-8, and Omni pickup patterns. The Vienna 12 model is based on a unique FET circuit that saturates gradually (unlike most condenser microphones which tend to clip abruptly). The microphone boasts an Australian-designed capsule, British Oxford transformer, hi-end Phillips Norelco uber-FET. manufactured with methods and materials usually found with hi-fi equipment, including even a $6 resistor - expensive considering most resistors cost just a few pennies each. It took three microphone experts including a PhD in Physics, a design genius in Belgium and a 40 year-old microphone collection to create it! Add two-way attenuation pads (8 and 16 dB) to enable end-user to tailor the dynamic behavior of the microphone to the situation and obtain new textures, with rarely the need for outboard processors or even equalization.

The ADK Vienna 12 T-FET has become our go-to microphone for drum overheads and room work, and it earned that spot quickly. While using it in the studio, what stood out immediately was how perfectly voiced it is for those applications. The low end is rolled off at just the right point and in just the right amount, keeping things tight and controlled, while the mids stay balanced and natural. Add in a tasteful lift in the upper mids and top end, and you get a shimmering, brilliant clarity that brings detail and cut without ever feeling harsh. That same character makes the Vienna 12 a fantastic choice for acoustic guitars, other stringed instruments, and piano, where articulation and openness really matter. We’ve also had great results using it on female vocals, where the clarity and air help the performance sit beautifully in a mix. It’s a microphone that consistently delivers musical detail and polish, especially in situations where you want brightness and definition handled with care.
