Bad Quality
Jul 8th 2014The speakers are great, i love the sound quality, but it has a serious crackling problem and it wont stop. I replaced the wires in that came with it with a TSR cord, but that didnt fix the problem. It gets really annoying because the crackling noise comes spontaneously and its bothering me.

Great monitors and even better shopping experience
Dec 9th 2013I researched a lot before buying these monitors and am confident I made the right choice. Having listened to a ton of monitors both in studios, home studios and in stores, I was torn between several different options. The HS8s live up to expectations and more. Great clarity and truth to them for a great price. Front End Audio had the best price, had a great package deal and shipped extremely quickly. I recommend both the monitors and Front End Audio.

HS8 was worth the wait!
Jul 17th 2013Front End had a great package price and their shipping was incredibly fast. I've been learning these for the last couple of weeks and find them VERY good. much smoother than the HS80s, without the fatiguing high end. Great bass, so I don't feel the need for a subwoofer. Clear soundstage. These monitors tell a much more accurate story than my standard home speakers ( Klipsch RF5s and Boston Acoustics CR 7s, both of which also sound great, but take liberties with the sound) Also had my neighbor (a respected producer who helped design and build my studio) weigh in. He mixes with the old NS10s (and a few other speakers for cross reference) and he never liked the sound of the older HS80s (which seemed to be the opinion I saw reflected in many reviews I read) but gave the thumbs up to the newer HS8s. The changes Yamaha made did the trick. I think these with a crosscheck on something non-ported (say Avantone Mixcubes) and you're good to go.

Jul 2nd 2013These monitors are amazing! They have a nice, flat sound and they aren't overbearing in the lows, but they're booming enough to where you won't necessarily need the sub. Extremely clear as well... I haven't experienced any harshness, but I also haven't burned them in yet (I hear it takes about 100 listening hours); so far so good, though. Also, Front End had the best deal for them even before they were released. Fast shipping and great representatives to answer your every question. You'll be hard pressed to find better service and a better deal!
