MXL V67G August 30, 2011

This is THE most amazing "small budget" microphone with a "big budget" sound. It has a wonderfully rich sound with presence and fullness at a price that any home recordist can afford.

Great for a lot of sources, and particularly great for male rock vocals, it has actually worked better on a few vocalists than several other mics in my locker costing from $500 to $2500!

Five stars for a crazy great value for a crazy low price!!

Shocking for the $ August 30, 2011
Reviewer: Bob from WI
I bought this mic based on word of mouth and was really shocked how good it was for the $. Probably one the biggest bang for dollar purchases I have made for my studio. I am not saying this thing is a Lawson on vocals but for my singer it was pretty good. I have better microphones but this was a very good fit for him. He has sung on Neumanns and Lawsons and while they are definatly better for him this was quite usable. I can't wait to get the JJ Audio modded version of this mic. Overheads and Acustic guitar fit pretty well also.

Superb value mic January 14, 2010
Reviewer: Simon Milliman from Portland, OR United States
This mic is great for female vocals and recording guitar cabs. I wasn't floored with the sound of it on my own voice (described by others as a little David Bowie-ish) but love it on all of the females I've recorded. Flat response that sometimes needs some brightening up depending on the style of music, but I would much rather have to brighten a mic than try and fight against the harshness of so many other cheap condensers. I've recorded this mostly through a UA LA 610 and have been very happy with it. I give this mic 5 stars considering the versatility and value you get from this mic and comparing it to other mics in this price range as well as those costing a couple hundred dollars more. This is NOT a mic you'll have to fight with to get a good sound.
