The Audix VX5 Handheld Condenser Microphone is a multi purpose, professional vocal condenser microphone designed for live, studio and broadcast applications. With an ability to duplicate studio quality sound on stage, the VX5 has a smooth and accurate frequency response, resistance to feedback and handles very high SPLs without distortion.

The Audix VX5 Handheld Condenser Microphone is designed with a tight and uniformly controlled supercardioid polar pattern. This condenser vocal microphone helps isolate vocals from the rest of the stage. Other features are a 14 mm gold vapor diaphragm, an acoustically ported steel mesh grill with a multi-stage pop filter, and a -10 dB pad and bass roll-off filter. The Audix VX5 will handle SPLs in excess of 140 dB (with pad and roll-off engaged) and will provide over 20 dB of ambient noise rejection on live stages. In addition to vocal applications, the Audix VX5 supercardioid microphone is designed to capture instruments such as guitars, woodwinds, brasses, percussion toys, drum overheads, hi-hats and pianos. The Audix VX5 Handheld Condenser Microphone requires 18 - 52 V phantom power.

Budget Condenser of the Year for a Reason!
    David Hoover

I use this every week on a vocalist with an airy and bassy voice and WOW does it deliver! It will resproduce naturally whatever vocal you put in front of it due to it's +/- 3dB response. Depending on the mix, it could be good or bad. Sometimes you will need to boost the presense to cut through by a couple dB, but that's it!! I use this mic next to the PR-35 every week, and they are both nice depending on the vocal. I let a friend borrow this mic and try it on a few vocals on their big turbosound arrays. He tested it next to every mic they had including the Neumann KMS 105. He now wants to buy a bunch of them because it blew them all away. Only catagory I have used that come close is Beta87c...yea I never used the Beta87c to begin with because it sounds so thin. VX5 is an AMAZING MIC! BTW, "kink.fm" uses it, so you can listen to it there under videos.
