Great mic for a mic locker of any caliber. Sounds good, has a little "sparkle" in the highs and a pretty smooth mid range. I only ever had one problem with the mic which was a screw that had come loose on the inside and rattled around.

My first LDC was a Bluebird matched with a UA Solo/610 preamp. The sound has been amazing. Very crisp and clean and although its response has some color to it (not your definitive transparent mic), it tends to sound good on everything you mic with it. Personally it has excelled with acoustic instruments (just used it to track Ukulele in a professional studio along side many mics of much higher cost and it was fantastic) as well as light/airy vocals usually from females. The only downside is relatively cheap components included. The shock mount works fine, but is difficult to adjust and seems like it will wear down over the years, especially since there is no case for it, only the mic. The pop filter is useless and may as well be thrown away.
Overall if you're looking for a budget mic that sounds on par with many mics worth much more, the Bluebird is the way to go (I say this now after working with many of the big hitters (U87, Tele ELAM 250, etc).

This mic is so clean, is just accurate for any vocal purposes, and even an acoustic guitar. Sounds amazing and it has become my favorite mic when recording vocals.

Warm up your sound |

It's hard to put the finger on how it does it, but this mic sounds true-to-the-source, yet warms it up. I used it on classical guitar and it brought up the "body" of sound without getting boomy or loosing top end. I also used it on a cajon very successfully. It is colored sound, for sure, but in a way that's very musical and gives an "acoustic" feel to it, a bit like putting your source in a wooden room, I guess.

This mic is great! I have been through alot of mics throughout my studio career and this is by far one of the best buys I have made. It has a very clear crisp sound, and is very good for rapping or singing. I highly recommend it.
