The Shure DMK57-52 Drum Mic Kit includes three Shure SM57 microphones, one Shure Beta 52 microphone, three Shure A56D drum-mounting systems, and a lightweight and durable carrying case.
The industry standard for snare drum, and a reliable and high-performing choice for toms, the cardioid dynamic Shure SM57 microphone features a contoured frequency response that cuts through the mix with exceptional impact, while reproducing sound accurately.
Perfect for the kick drum, the supercardioid Shure Beta 52 derives its low-end punch and sonic presence from a carefully tailored frequency response. Equipped with its own pneumatic shock mount, the Beta 52 is additionally designed with an integral locking stand mount for quick-and-easy set up.
A key element of the kit, Shure's A56D universal drum mounting system can be used to position microphones virtually anywhere -- on drum rims, microphone stands, even cymbal stands. Designed with captive parts to prevent the loss of individual pieces, the A56D is small, secure, and can be used with any standard microphone, making it a great tool for both stage and studio environments.

What We Think
The Shure DMK57-52 Drum Microphone Kit is one of my favorite kits to take with me when mixing front of house. The Shure Beta 52 Kick Drum Microphone provides a very solid and good presentation of the kick drum with plenty of low-end power. The SM57s work incredibly well for both rack toms and even floor toms, and is widely regarded as THE snare drum microphone for both stage and studio. What really sold me on the kit are the A56D drum mounts. They are very solid, all metal mounts that do very well to grip upon rims. Floating hardware is always a problem for any mounting system and for the A56D there is no exception. But, in 85% of situations, you're going to have a better and more solid mounting system for the longer SM57 than you will find in other mounts. The carrying case is very rugged, making for a total package that's tough to beat for the money."
