Was surprised when I optimistically assumed that I would be able to screw this adapter by itself on to my mk012 pre-amp for a fig 8 pattern. Additionally, two cardiod capsules (fortunately I had them) which screw into the adapter are needed. That said, I love the sound, dramatic rejection on the sides, crisp and present on front or back. My fav use: close micing percussion while capturing room ambience.

As I do a lot of odd effects & Foley recording around the house, mainly mono. this gives me a stereo image available to me on the occasion when I want. Easier than setting up an omni with my hper-cardoid
Great adapter, cardiod capsules NOT included
