Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface is the second generation 2 in / 2 out USB 2.0 audio interface with two Scarlett Mic/Instrument preamplifiers, 24bit/192kHz & USB bus power. Pro Tools | First & Ableton Live Lite recording software, plug-ins and samples included. Mac & PC compatible.
The Scarlett 2i2 is the best selling USB audio interface in the world, and for good reason. It focuses on just three things; achieving the best sound, the fastest speed and the easiest experience. Our latest generation continues to improve in all three areas. It is compact yet versatile, with two natural-sounding Scarlett mic preamps, super-low latency* and the same class-leading sound quality and digital conversion as the rest of the latest Scarlett range. Take it anywhere, connect by a single USB cable, plug two mics or instruments straight in, and easily record studio quality audio. Focusrite is the perfect partner for Pro Tools. To celebrate this Scarlett 2i2 now comes with an exclusive version of Pro Tools | First Focusrite Creative Pack, as well as Ableton Live Lite. It is compatible with all major DAWs, on Mac and PC.
Sound just like you
With Scarlett 2i2 your recordings will sound just how you want them. Two combination inputs with natural-sounding Scarlett mic preamps, line level inputs and newly-designed instrument inputs let you record anything you want. Even seriously hot guitar pick-ups. Two 1/4 inch balanced jack outputs let you connect to professional studio monitors, turn up the volume and totally immerse yourself in sound.
New Generation - Better in every way
The second generation Scarlett range is packed full of upgrades. New super-low latency* will bring confidence to your performance, letting you record and monitor with software effects in real time. New metal gain controls and a sleeker red metal chassis underscore its improved industrial design, built to go anywhere. The Scarlett range also now operates at sample rates all the way up to 192kHz, and the input channels have evolved too. The latest Scarlett mic preamp features a more even gain structure, so you can accurately set your levels, and the instrument input has also been completely redesigned so it can handle seriously hot guitar pick-ups. Finally, Focusrite have provided analogue protection circuitry across both the inputs and the outputs, to guard your interface against unwanted power surges.
Ready to record anywhere
Compact and portable enough to take anywhere, you won't even need a power supply; Scarlett 2i2 is connected and powered by a single USB cable. It also comes with the software and effects you need to start recording; an exclusive version of Pro Tools | First Focusrite Creative Pack (featuring 12 additional plug-ins including the Eleven Lite for real life guitar amp emulations), Ableton Live Lite, the Softube Time and Tone Bundle, Focusrite's Red Plug-In Suite, 2GB of Loopmasters samples and more.
* Super-low roundtrip latency was measured at 2.74ms, working at 96kHz with a 32 samples buffer on Logic Pro X, running on a Mac Pro and OS 10.11

Great interface for beginner studio setups
Helpful, experienced, and courteous representatives at FrontEnd. Shipped out my Focusrite audio interface in record time. Great company company who I would definitely recommend to a friend.
With the direct monitor button I can hear the audio going in through the mic without any delay before it goes into the pc. This is a must when recording vocals. Most audio interfaces sold do not have this option. I had to sell a previous interface after trying this one out. Also with the low latency I can add effects through the pc and still not be thrown off by delay as it goes through the pc and back to the headphones.
No complaints about the box. The software registration is like something out of a sitcom.
I wanted a small portable interface with clean pres and a well built housing and thats exactly what i got.
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is my 4th audio interface. I've already got a Fireface 800 and a Soundscape (iBox8 XLR) for two desktops and a (v1) Duet for my old MacBookPro that I've now retired (i.e., it stays in the studio when I travel). I was looking for a small, portable USB interface with as good, or better, Mic Preamps that was not as expensive as the Duet v2.
This little interface fits the bill on all counts. It's a little bulky (like a fat paperback novel) but fits ok in my carry-on. It's super simple to install (load the disc to install the drivers) and operate. I use Logic Pro 9 and DSP-Quattro as my DAW and Editor, and I've had no issues with stability (or use).
The sound quality is subjectively good, and by that I mean I would have howled to the moon had I had this interface in the 90s. Now, most of us expect a lot of bang for our buck, and usually get it, though I would venture to say this interface surpassed my expectations. Long term keeper.
