Beyerdynamic M201 TG Dynamic Microphone Details
The Beyerdynamic M201 TG Dynamic Hypercardioid Microphone is another Beyerdynamic microphone from the â?workhorse stableâ?, the M 201 TG preserves its place in history through sheer performance and reliability and we are proud that it has come to feature here with the classics. A truly sensitive dynamic microphone with a range of applications spanning instruments to vocals, being particularly effective when the microphone has to be placed at a distance from the sound source. It incorporates a â?hum-buckâ? coil that rejects mains borne interference introduced when using the microphone close to video monitors or other mains powered devices.

    great dynamic mic sound

Posted by Dan on Feb 7th 2013

I have owned this mic for close to ten years, and it has that Hi-Fi European dynamic mic sound. Solid as a rock, snaps into the mic clip nicely, and even has a foam windscreen for vocals( although you need some additional gain boost for that use- more than just 65 to 70db in my opinion ).

This mic is mostly neutral on sources, but that can be really good. One of the best recordings that the 201TG gave me was from a clean electric Marshall guitar amp. WOW! Clean, bright and snappy without overdoing it. Great for snare, toms, AND the kick drum too.

    Great snare mic

I purchased the Beyer M 201 to replace an SM-57 for recording snare drum, and I am very happy with it. The hypercardiod pattern is very good at rejecting bleed from the hi-hat, and the M 201 produces a nice solid tone to the snare tracks.

    Great microphone!

My band uses this as a high-hat mic mostly, and it sound phenomenal. It has a slight bump in the midrange, and it gives it a great edge.

I would totally recommended this to anyone!

One of the best snare microphone !

Posted by RaoulJ on Dec 30th 2010

This is one of the best snare drum microphone.
Used by a lot of sound engineers.

I own 2 of them and they are very good -although not very sensitive- dynamic hypercardioid microphones.
They can be used for HiHat or Electric guitar amp micking with a lot of success too...
as well as with several accoustic instruments.
    A real winner.
