Audio Technica BP4029 Stereo Shotgun Microphone Details

Audio Technica BP4029 Stereo Shotgun Microphone is a 9.29 inches long device based on models originally developed for use in the broadcast of the Sydney Games in 2000, and engineered for high-end broadcast and production use. Audio Technica BP4029 Stereo Shotgun Microphone features independent line-cardioid and figure-of-eight element configured in an MS (Mid-Side) arrangement with switch-selectable internal matrixing. The innovative Audio Technica BP4029 Stereo Shotgun Microphone allows sound recordists the choice of selecting a left-right stereo output (wide or narrow) via the microphone"?s internal matrixing system or choosing discrete Mid-Side signals for later manipulation, a flexibility not available from any other manufacturer.

A switchable low frequency roll-off filter helps minimize the pickup of unwanted low frequency noise. The phantom-powered Audio Technica BP4029 Stereo Shotgun Microphone features a rugged lightweight design and sleek black color scheme, perfect for on-camera use.

    Great mic; great value

Posted by Paprika on Aug 5th 2016

Considering that other brands of stereo shotguns can cost MUCH more, this mic is a terrific performer. Besides a low noise floor and great overall sound, I really like that this mic allows me to select a wide or narrow stereo pickup pattern, or simply output the front and side patterns to separate tracks, then mix and combine them later. A very sound purchase for a small video rig for ENG or other projects.
