sE Electronics Gemini II Tube Microphone

The sE Electronics Gemini II Tube Microphone is a no-holds-barred piece of microphone history. The dual valve design means pure valve warmth from the 12AX7 input valve, coupled with a 12AU7 valve on the output stage.

The result is an incredibly large, detailed, and intimate sound reminiscent of the classic valve microphones from decades ago, but with a thoroughly modern twist.

The Gemini II maintains a low noise floor, minimizing the "room noise" associated with most tube microphones. The capsule houses a large diaphragm cardioid element that features a wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The cardioid polar pattern is flexible for most applications as it rejects ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The Gemini II uses an external Power Supply Unit (PSU) and an 3-pin screw-on terminal ensures a secure connection from the microphone to the PSU.

Finally, I have found my bass clarinet's mate. They were married two weeks ago in a small ceremony in my studio, and have enjoyed many evenings together since.

The offspring from this union will be available shortly...

Review of Gemini 2 & Reflexion Filter September 3, 2009
Reviewer: Jeffrey Helsius from Oconto, WI United States
"Love the Gemini 2 and the Reflexion Filter.  Wow!!  If you've got it, it'll bring it!!  Thick rich lows with pristine clarity, smooth mids, crystal highs, and quiet as a mouse!!  Multiple listeners have commented that the vocal sounds immediately present; meaning it sounds as if I were singing and sitting right next to them "live".  No need to EQ.  No need to thicken the sound by doubling tracks.  No need to close proximity to pick up a little more bass response at the expense of picking up annoying mouth clicks and pops.  Worth every penny!!  Spend the money, so you can finally relax and sing!!"
