These stands are very sturdy and provide much more for the dollar than other speaker stands I've seen. They are a bit heavy compared to some others, but that's the price of having a steel stand that gives you some confidence it will hold the weight. I also like the wide spread of the legs, which seem to be of a very stable design. The first pair I ordered arrived with a broken upper tube coupler/friction bracket-- it appeared as though someone had overtightened the lower retaining bolt on the bracket. The bracket still served its purpose when I used it, and Front End took great care of me when I informed them of the damaged stand. A replacement pair of stands have arrived and I'll be receiving a pre-paid return label for the first pair. Meanwhile, I ordered a second pair and they arrived in perfect condition. I recommend these stands, with the caveat that you'll want to be kind to the brackets and not over-tighten the retaining bolt.
