These were my first real reference headphones. While working as a music producer for a karaoke company, I found I needed to dissect popular songs and pinpoint arrangements on all kinds of instruments and frequency ranges. These headphones really let me perceive the details masked by other brands (Sony, Koss, Sennheiser, etc.) They are not cheap, but once you give 'em a test drive, you'll find out what you've been missing with lesser designs.
