Featuring the Dynamic MicroDriver, the Shure SE215 Professional Sound Isolating Earphones deliver detailed sound with enhanced bass. A detachable cable with formable wire enables easy replacement and a secure, comfortable fit on-stage or on-the-go. Sound Isolating sleeves in multiple sizes provide up to 37 dB of isolation and a customized fit. Evolved from personal monitor technology that's been road-tested by pro musicians, the SE215 delivers detailed sound for personal listening or professional monitoring. The SE215 Earphones are available in translucent black or clear.

The comfortable sound isolating sleeves block up to 37 dB of ambient noise. Sound isolation technology prevents outside noise from interfering with your listening experience, no matter where you are. Shure Sound Isolating Earphones require a proper fit to achieve the best sound. The role of the included sound isolating sleeves is twofold: blocking ambient noise and ensuring a comfortable customized fit. Because every ear is different, the Fit Kit includes three sizes (S, M, L) of the flex and black foam sleeves. Experiment with the size and style that creates the best fit for you. A good seal is key to optimizing sound isolation and bass response as well as maximizing comfort during extended wear. A soft-zip, compact carrying case is included to provide a convenient, tangle-free solution to store and travel with your earphones.

Real nice! May 11, 2011

I'll chip in my 2 cents about this IEM. I bought this primarily for casual listening, not for studio monitoring.

I found it to be pretty balanced across the entire spectrum, has good detail and translates transients well.

However, you must find the best fit in your ears with the included foam or soft flex sleeves for the best sound quality. If it's too loose, it might be bass shy. Too tight and the high end sounds a tad funny. When the fit is right, it'll sound real good!

For USD99, your expectations have to be realistic. Don't expect the level of transparency, balance and sound stage of a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, for instance.

I've tried numerous IEMs by Bose, Klipsh, Ultimate Ears, AKG and Westone. They're either of a similar price range or costing twice as much, but the Shure 215 is a winner for me.

Above all, try em before you buy em. YMMV. You'll enjoy your music even more through these, compared to your average Apple earphones.
