    Excellent
    George W. Wakim

This is an excellent microphone that will work for voice and anything else. The best vocal for my soft baritone voice is the Sennheiser MD441 but this is a close second and more!! I’m definitely keeping it.

    Deceptively Good
    nicholas d'angelo

i used this microphone more than 15 years ago and since then always wanted one. finally got one and every time i use it i am pleased with what it delivers. i have two dozen mics which i use for either live or studio. this one is one of my default live mics. yes, i use it for vocals and although i usually have a problem with proximity because of the way i sing/talk, this mic is very forgiving. my live mics serve 2 purposes (pa + recording) so for me to give a mic a "default" status it has to shine in both departments simultaneously. like the Shure SM 57, everyone should have one of these in their locker.

    Great for Guitars
    John Tuggle

I really like using this mic on guitar amps mixed with a 57. It has mids that the 57 just doesn't have giving your a very full sound. Toms work with this of course very well. Sounds totally different than the SM7.

    great all arounder

I don't have a lot of mics so what I do have has to count and this one fills a lot of niches from guitar cabs to drums. The cool thing is you can dial in the tone with the knob.

Great for toms and guitar cabs
    Jesse

Once you throw one of these on a tom you'll soon realize why people have been using these for years. It just gives you a great response and makes things sound the way they should. Also great for a darker sounding close mic'ed guitar cab. The mount takes some getting used to, but isn't the fatal flaw some people make it out to be. Bass roll-off switch also comes in handy.

Not the legend I had hoped for.
    Stephen Lawson

I was not impressed with sound or build quality. The quirky mounting bracket is a sloppy fit. The plastic case is oversize and pales to some less expensive mics The mic body is plastic and does not have the same "wieght of quality" as an SM57. All this would be fine if it sounded great and it doesn't sound great... good yes, but not great.
