Recently, I had the chance to purchase a pair of the Sennheiser HD 650 headphone monitors. I noticed that when listening through closed back head sets, there seemed to be a slight lower frequency in the 4-6oo khz range. Full or partial ear closed back headsets seem to create a false listening enviornment that does not exist in the normative listening of either live, or recorded music. I found that I tend to remove low frequency when using cb headsets. While using the Sennheiser 650 set, I find more trust in the frequency relationship with my near field monitors. My results have been that my mixes are are not overly high ended, nor have the bass and sub frq's been over driven. The HD650's offer a very true flat response when compared to other speaker sources I employ to gaining a clearer picture of how my mixes sound in environments I have no control over. I love these headphones so much, that I invested in the next step up. A pair of Sennheiser HD 800
