These mics sound really good in the right application. I used them on piano and 12string guitar with good results. They have a nice overall response, but they required lots of fine tuning as far as the placement. They have a super shiny high end and a nice bass response, but they lack a lot of features. They are built like tanks which is great, but they are a bit bulky compared to most SDC's. If your looking at sE's I'd suggest saving up for one of their higher end models.
