What We Think My first reach on electric guitar cabs is the sE R1 ribbon, period. It's not as flubby in the low end as many ribbons, and has a midrange response that is a great match for this application. Also, there's more bite in the top end which requires less EQ in the mix compared to other mics. OK it's not the cheapest ribbon we have, but it's not the most expensive either; for me it does this one thing so well I consider the R1 a "must have" for anyone recording electric guitars. It excels on many acoustic sources also! - Warren Dent, Front End Audio |
