Rode M2 Handheld Condenser Microphone

Rode M2 Live Performance Condenser Microphone

Rode M2 Details
The RODE M2 Handheld Condenser Microphone puts crystal-clear, studio-caliber sound reproduction in your hands! Though it gives you condenser-mic performance, the M2's supercardioid pickup pattern and internal shockmount design makes it very resistant to feedback. It's like having the best of both worlds onstage: the durability and dependability of a dynamic mic built into a high-performance condenser model! A locking on/off switch is handy for performers, and the effective windscreen protects the capsule while making the M2 very resistant to plosives.

RODE quality
The M2 benefits from RODE's extensive experience in crafting premium condenser microphones for studio, live and location use. This new microphone builds upon the foundation set by the TEC award-winning RODE S1.

Designed for the stage
Combining sound quality equal to that of the finest studio microphones, the M2 features a tailored response to reduce feedback, as well as an integrated shock mounting system to minimise handling noise. A locking on/off switch located on the microphone's body provides the switching feature required by singers with self-operated sound systems, yet can be locked off when used in larger, dedicated operator environments.

RODE M2 Features
  • Live condenser vocal microphone
  • Feedback rejecting supercardioid pickup pattern
  • Locking on/off switch
  • Heavy-duty metal body
  • High level of RF rejection
  • Low handling noise
  • Designed and manufactured in Australia

Rode M2 April 30, 2011

Had a buddy bring this to a show to see if he liked it better than his Beta58. So we plugged in the M2 and the Beta58. Now this could have been just for this guys voice, but the M2 cleaned the floor with the Beta. Ive had the pleasure of working with a KSM150 and the M2 brought back fond memories. It gave the voice a sort of space/bubble for the vocals to sit in, still be present, but not over power the mix and with the slight push of a fader jumps right out front. Not sibilant, sparkly top giving in the option to EQ in a little highs if one desired. Other than that i left the EQ flat. The super cardioid patter fits the bill for for rejecting loud stage monitors. BUT! Whats with the switch!?!?!?!
