The Peluso P-67 Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone is an accurate recreation of the Neumann U67 with fantastic sound! This is perhaps the most requested and awaited microphone in history when you think about it.

The Peluso P-67 Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone is styled after the vintage Neumann U67. Produced from 1960 to 1971 the legendary U67 is a key part of the classic sound of albums of the late 60s and early 70s. The shape of the dual mesh head grille and glass EF style pentode vacuum tube are part of what enables the Peluso P-67 to very accurately achieve the sonic qualities of a U-67. The P-67's capsule has dual 34 mm gold-sputtered diaphragms. The Peluso P-67 features two switches on the microphone body. A low frequency roll-off switch decreases the low-end gain and can counter the proximity effect of close range vocals. A -10dB pad switch for lower gain can be used with close range brass, guitar cabinets, drums or other high level sources. The Peluso P-67 is a highly functional and versatile microphone. Professional engineers know the "67", ask anyone.

The Peluso P-67 Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone is paired with the Peluso MX-56 power supply. The dual sided capsule in the P-67 enables the power supply to feature 9 polar patterns in an array from omni-directional to cardioid to figure eight. The P-67 features our heavy-duty 8-pin screw on cable connector. The large diameter pins in the screw on connector give a tight and secure cable connection designed to perform for a lifetime of use.

Microphone kit comes as a complete system including: P-67 Microphone in a Wood Box, Power Supply, New-style 8-Pin Screw on Cable Assembly, and a Shock Mount all packed in a Flight Case. Acoustically matched pairs available upon special request.

What We Think

The Peluso P-67 Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone carries forth John Peluso's commitment to bringing the sound and soul of classic microphones back to life as they were new - not as a recreation of a sixty year old example that has changed and drifted and had who knows what components replaced by who knows who - who knows when! In order to ensure the accuracy of the P-67, John started out with 10 authentic frequency response charts from the late sixties of 10 then-brand-spanking-new U 67 microphones. The P-67 is within 1dB across the frequency spectrum of each of these ten microphones. In fact, some of the U 67s vary from each other more than the P-67 from the median measurement. In use, we found this microphone to have very much the character and performance of the U 67, M269, M367 family of microphones. On vocals, it is a clear performer and is, in fact, a knockout. The 67 became a first choice for vocals when it came on the scene in the sixties, and into the seventies and beyond. So, if you're looking to get the same sound, but don't have the 'ching-ching' to swing an original - or just don't wish to bother with the potential for being ripped off or getting a maintenance nightmare - then the Peluso P-67 is a perfect choice to add to your studio. And it's not just for vocals. Many a classic album had U 67s on drums (Rolling Stones, for example), and on electric guitars (The Beatles - about the time of The White Album).
