Oktava MK-105 Details
Designed to work with numerous sound sources to maximum effect, the MK-105 excels on vocals, grand pianos, guitars and percussion amongst many other sources, and gives presence and warmth to lead parts in the mix. The frequency response of the MK-105 is expansive, ranging from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and smooth throughout all of its polar patterns. Despite its sensitivity it has a very high SPL handling capability and very low noise floor, allowing straight to digital recording and thus leaving the pure warm sound unadulterated. Comes in a Wooden Jewelers case with Mic Clip, Manual and One Year Warranty.

"The Oktava MK-105 is an excellent vocal microphone. It has an uncanny ability to shape a vocal to a size that fits nicely into a mix without dominating or sounding anemic. It's kind of like the Goldilocks' bed of microphones. By the same token, it's gently rising frequency response character exhibits a nice and smooth top end while retaining a natural bottom end. It's a microphone that I have to talk people into just because it's not well known. But when they get it, they love it."

I've been on both ends of plenty of high end microphones before, but the MK-105 continues to blow me away. It's flat response across the board means you can post-EQ the sound any way you want. I use it for vocals, guitars (acoustic and electric), sampling, reference, everything! It's very well built and heavy. Worth every penny, plus some!
