What We Think - Monster Studio Pro 1000 Review

"Cables are not just simply cables. The Monster Studio Pro 1000 cables are the ultimate. I've found no better for the price and performance ratio. These guys are built like brick houses and weigh a ton. Their patented Time Correct windings and Bass Control Conductor make a difference that can be heard.

My first experience with these cables really came when working with engineer Michael Bishop on an Ernest Ranglin album (Gothca!) for Telarc. Michael showed up with a huge flight case full of Monster Cable Studio Pro 1000 cables. We bypassed all the wall panels and ran straight into the pre-amps and then straight to the Studer A800 MkIII - all using the Monster Cable. Being intimately familiar with the sound of the studio as a unit, I immediately noticed a difference in the openness and sheer girth of the bottom end. But the top end had a nice and smooth top to it that wasn't simply thin or wispy; there was a complexity to it. That experience stuck with me and helped me learn what to listen for in microphone cables.

I've owned one of the Studio Pro 1000 Instrument Cables for close to 10-years now, gigging and using it in the studio regularly, and it looks as new as the day I unwrapped it. It's massive 'fire-hose of sound' body transfers all the sound output by my bass and I could strangle a Kodiak bear with it without fear of breakage - though I don't recommend such activities.

Cabling is a cumulative effort - you really notice the difference when you upgrade to a particular cable series throughout your system. You should not hesitate to use these cables for your studio monitors or to interconnect between your mixer or summing amp and your stereo mix chain and converters or mix deck. You will hear the difference."
