M-Audio NRV10 - For those of us who haven't gone totally virtual with synths and sound modules and need to monitor the outboard gear in a DAW environment, there are plenty of mixer/interface solutions. Mixer/Audio Interface
The M-Audio NRV10 is a unique and exceptional tool for computer-based recording and performance. The NRV10 combines an 8 x 2 analog mixer and a 10 x 10 24-bit/96kHz digital audio interface in one convenient package. The NRV10 enables you to route and record mixer channels discretely to individual tracks in Pro Tools M-Powered, Ableton Live 6, and other software DAWs. You can also return multiple discrete audio channels from your computer to the NRV10 for CPU-free mixing and monitoring, complete with on-board digital effects - great for live performances. That means you don't have to change settings like EQ and reverb in your files every time you play a new venue. Flexible monitoring options also make vocal/instrument recording and DJ-style audio previewing a breeze.
Multiple Channel Audio Return
The NRV10 seamlessly integrates your computer with your studio and bridges the gap between studio and stage as well. Unlike the other audio interface-equipped mixers, the NRV10 allows multiple channels of audio to be returned to the mixer. The included NRV10 interFX application allows you turn your NRV10 and host computer into a powerful live mixer with access to all of your VST effects. This assists greatly in the recording process as users can create a separate headphone mix for an artist, feed a click track to a drummer or preview audio material. The return streams also allow the computer to be used as a multi-effect processor, essentially functioning as an insert effect for every channel. The M-Audio NRV10 is almost like having a mini VENUE system.
Standalone Mixer with FX
NRV10 interFX application facilitates live mixing with included dynamic effects, VST compatibility and software recall. You can add real-time insert effects to each NRV10 channel. Built-in effects include compression and expansion-gating for each channel, flanger, chorus, distortion and delay. The NRV10 can also host two VST plug-ins per channel. For added mixing power, you can save and recall setups to easily change effect configurations between songs or venues.
