"For years, I have heard about EV and how great their vocal mics are at a live gig. You just rarely ever see them as a part of the house system and thusly never get to use them unless you go out on a limb and buy one. I happened to luck out one night when I mixed for a traveling band and they had a couple of EV N/D767A mics. I had always been on the lookout for a microphone that is great at isolating a drummer's vocals from the bleed of their kit. This mic blew me away! It has excellent rejection and whatever bleed that is present is small, tight, and rolled off top and bottom - very manageable. The same can be said for how the mic performed for the lead singer who was right in front of the drum kit. When he stepped away, the sound of the kit was low and manageable. I think I've found a great new tool for live vocal recordings!"
