The M30 is a very cost effective reference microphone for SMAART™, MLSSA™, Spectrafoo™, TEF™ & RTA and all “audio band” measurements. It has a flat frequency response, fast impulse response and exceptional polar characteristics.
The Earthworks M30BX is a battery powered version of the M30. The M30BX delivers the same calibrated 30kHz performance as our M30 reference mic without the need for phantom power. It is powered by a single AA cell which will last 1500 hours of time plugged in. An internal switch allows 14dB of gain. If your sound card has any gain at all, and the sound level is even moderately loud, the output of the M30BX will be enough that you won't need an external preamp. The M30BX is a handy and powerful tool for laboratory, field and production measurements.
