    Details

As a vocal microphone the SR20 (same as SR69) is spectacular. It will accurately capture a voice with the same precision and quality up to 90 degrees off-axis. This means you can have the same pristine sound quality at the front and side of the microphone. Up close the SR20 is warm, not boomy, while its unique windscreen assembly eliminates the popping of P’s. Its patented design and uniform polar response provide more gain before feedback than other microphones.

Unscrewing the windscreen of the SR20 allows it to become a great instrument mic, outstanding for piano, guitar, drums, brass, woodwinds and other instruments. The SR20 will handle up to 145dB SPL and is an exceptional, versatile high quality microphone that is quite affordable.

The award winning SR20 is an exceptional and sturdy live sound microphone that is also at home in the studio. Its clean, natural on-axis pick up and smooth uncolored off-axis rejection makes the SR20 superb for a wide range of applications, including reinforcement and recording of vocals, guitar, drums, piano, horns, strings and woodwinds. Its open easy to use pickup is musician friendly. The SR20 provides excellent gain before feedback because there are no off-axis peaks to feedback.

As a vocal microphone the SR20 is spectacular. It accurately captures voice at 6" with a bit more bass warmth available if you move closer. It has now presence peak, only natural, easy-to-use, on-axis pick up, and uncolored off-axis rejection. It has low handling noise and is well protected from popping of P's. As with other Earthworks mics, you will find you need less EQ because it sounds great just as it is!

Removing the windscreen assembly reveals it's alternate persona. The SR20 effortlessly captures a wide range of real acoustic sources, like choir, guitar, mandolin, banjo, accordion, horns and flute, but most especially drums and other percussion. For acoustic guitar and all stringed instruments the SR20 sounds perfect at 6" and yet provides enough gain before feedback to let it cut through in the mix. The SR20 is a powerful tool for communication. It is superb for applications involving spoken word, such as church and civic meetings, radio and vocal production. It's open pick up pattern is very forgiving. It facilitates the pick up of inexperienced speakers by its greater reach and coherent pickup pattern. For spoken word applications, the SR20 provides better intelligibility than other microphones, regardless of price.

The SR20 is the best choice when you want to capture the actual sound of the source, whether for live sound or recording. Try it and hear for yourself!
