| Earthworks 1022 ZDT Zero Distortion 2-Channel Mic Preamp Details
Earthworks' 1022 2-channel preamp is as professional as it is no-frills. There are no bells and whistles on the 1022 - and no hum or distortion either. If you've been looking for a microphone preamp that conforms to the highest standards of professionalism, you've found it! The sum of noise plus all types of distortion is 1 part per million. The distortion and noise is so miniscule, it's practically non-existent! Each channel has an XLR input, and you can apply phantom power via a front panel switch. The phase can be reversed and the channel muted by other front panel switches. Transparent gain is switchable from 5 dB to 60 dB in 5 dB steps. What's more, the 1024 has a 10 volt nominal output capability to take advantage of the capabilities of 24-bit digital.

What We Think
"The Earthworks 1022 ZDT preamplifier is such a clean and transparent microphone preamplifier, Front End Audio bought one for our studio and use it as our reference preamplifier for microphone testing. Though it adds no discernable color, the 1022 ZDT is not short on LIFE! Elements and harmonic overtones jump in a lively and musical fashion. I've always been a fan of the vintage tube and solid state designs, but when I started using the Earthworks 1022 ZDT, I'm looking at my preamplifier selection in a whole new light when tracking. I've become quite a fan."
