Chandler Limited EMI Abbey Road TG Mastering Pack Native Plug-In Details

The Chandler Limited EMI Abbey Road TG Mastering Pack provides authentic emulations of EQ and filter modules from the original EMI TG12410 transfer console. These consoles were custom-built for EMI's studios and have been the centrepiece of Abbey Road's mastering rooms for more than 30 years.

The TG12410's Tone Control and Filter modules have become secret weapons of Abbey Road's mastering engineers and these were studied and modelled to create the TG Mastering Pack. The plug-ins bring the smooth, musical sound of the original TG hardware to users of computer-based audio workstations.

The TG12412 is a four-band, semi-parametric EQ with selectable frequencies and curve shapes on each band. The Shape control provides the shelving and variable bell curves from the original module. The TG12414 provides a presence section and low- and high-pass filters. The presence section is the same as the presence EQ on the legendary TG12345 mixing console.

What We Think - Chandler Limited Mastering Pack Review

"The Chandler Limited / EMI / Abbey Road plug-ins are nothing short of amazing. Each one of the the TG-series plug-ins evokes the incredibly vibey sound of EMI's output from the late-sixties as heard on such indispensable albums as 'The Beatles' Abbey Road' and 'Dark Side Of The Moon' by Pink Floyd. The EMI TG12345 Limiter is one of my favorite compressor/limiters to use since it pretty much becomes 'sonic-crack' the moment you drive it into the ranges that might have likely gotten you fired from EMI back in the day, had the 'labcoats' seen you 'improperly use the equipment'. Until recently, not a lot of fuss was made about where The Beatles albums had been mastered. Well, they were mastered at Abbey Road as well and they have quite the reputation for excellent work and their unique sonic texture. Though only Abbey Road may have seen the EMI TG12410 transfer console, the more recent remasters utilized these sonic gems. With the TG Mastering Pack, you'll gain the same EQ signature that was entrusted with perhaps the most revered and heavily protected body of work of any artist. But you also gain the TG12412 4-band equalizer from the legendary TG12345 mixing console, making this package also perfect for tracking and mixing. And if you're looking for some brilliance, then you'll just need to get the whole kit-and-kaboodle as embodied in the Chandler EMI Abbey Road Bundle appropriate for either Native (Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools LE, Logic, Studio One, or other) or TDM (Pro Tools HD) based DAWs. The EMI Abbey Road Brilliance Pack is only available in the full package. However, the Brilliance Pack modules were the secret EQ (literally) 'plug-in' weapon devices that expanded the capabilities of the classic tube REDD 7 consoles' equalizer sections. This is where the top end opened up in those mixes and restored a good bit of what had been lost in the generational loss due to the bouncing down to stems from machine to machine. But there are other benefits as well to the Brilliance Pack and it is highly recommended. All together, the Chandler Limited / EMI / Abbey Road plug-ins are must haves and are thankfully easy on the wallet. Inspiration from software has never been so easy to achieve."
