CAD Trion 8000 Tube Microphone Details

The Trion 8000 is a multi-pattern, externally biased, large dual diaphragm studio tube condenser microphone which incorporates a precision-machined, hand-assembled capsule. The low mass 1.25" gold vapor deposited, hand dampened diaphragms offer the warm, rich and open classic tube sound ideal for studio vocal recordings in the digital realm. Exceptional sensitivity, low distortion and an extended frequency response make the Trion 8000 an outstanding performer.

Discrete Class A electronics provide transparent, accurate sound reproduction. The transformer-coupled output ensures excellent RF immunity, cancellation of cable capacitance, and rejection of induced line noise. A 3-position polar pattern switch provides selection of omnidirectional, cardioid or figure-8 polar patterns for versatility and flexibility. The rugged metal housing and construction provide durability.

Accurate sound reproduction, high SPL capability and warm tube performance make this an excellent choice for vocal and instrument recording. Shockmount, heavy-duty aluminum carrying case, 25 ft 6-pin connector cable, and power supply are included.

What We Think - CAD Trion 8000 Review

The CAD Trion 8000, think tube mic. It’s that simple. The Trion 8000 is a well rounded tube mic that will take anything you give it, with ease. Characteristic of tube mics, the Trion 8000 has a full mid body, smooth top, and a present low end. I really like it on low energy sources like bass guitar and outside of a kick drum. If you want to add a nice dimension to you drum mix, try it on drum room or overhead.

I use this mic for recording vocals and sometimes acoustic guitars, and is amazing!

The multi-pattern option gives you a wide possibilities to use in the best way, so you can obtain a really really good sound from this.

This is a tube mic so it provides a warm sound, great for voices, I really love it.

Some people says this is one of the best mics for the price, but I think this is one of the best mics, without the "for the price" part, really... If you can't afford, you don't need a Neumann U87 to make good voice recordings, just get this and you are on the way.

The Trion 8000 looks great, sounds great...

You can't go wrong with this mic.
