API? Maybe-ish! Doesn't matter. Sounds great.
    Dave Velardo

I'm very pleasantly stoked about this little and inexpensive box. I've become a fan of API style plugins and wanted to try some like hardware but, like always, the real things are a little out of reach of most normal music making humans. This works really, really well for my needs. It's forward, fat and has just enough air to lift it out without sounding like it's being hyped. I'm cutting more than I'm adding and that's a good thing. AND, it's not like I'm doing a lot of that either. I do wish it had a gain meter. It's a trend I don't like on mic pres. Heritage doesn't have 'em either. Ok. I have to listen anyway but...I like my meters No complaints, really. Great, weighty sound that I like to use in front of API plugins that doesn't cost much at all in the world of analog hardware. Seems built like a tank, too. I'm going to get a lot of use out of this and probably order a 2nd to match it. Bravo.
