Great all-around mic for budget home recording |

I purchased this mic a couple of years ago to do some demo material. At the time, I was using mostly SM57s for all applications. Truth be told, the 57s were working out great. But to capther the nuances of a quiet vocal or acoustic guitar part, I needed a decent condensor. I'd borrowed several of the popular mid-level condesor mics at one time or another, but decided to get the AT4033 on recomendation of an engineer friend. I honestly believe that, for the price, you won't beat this mic. Without coloring the signal, it captures intricate details that you would only expect from a high end condensor. I've used it an many varied applications and found it to be extremely versatile as well. Normally, I'm a big proponent of "You get what you pay for", but in this case, I'd say you get a little more.
