I own several mics from the md421 to the k5... looking for a ribbon to add to my cabinet... very nice with lots of smooth low end, better than a 58 but can't touch the 4050 or nt2a (as expected) has a very unusual color to my recordings, lining through a focusrite isa 1 a dmp3 and a bla auteur... surprisingly i think it sounds best through the maudio (the isa just doesn't drive it enough) so yes, nice mic for the price, pretty smooth, fun to play around with if it is a bit ugly. (it is)

Very nice. Smooth, quiet, balanced. Requires lots of gain, as expected. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try a ribbon mic without spending too much money. I've used it on acoustic guitar, male vocal, congas, shakers - all with very good results. On tambourine it was only fair. Takes eq - cut or boost - very well. This is my first ribbon, but I've had plenty of experience with good mics from Audio-Technica, SE Electronics, AKG, and Studio Projects (the Studio Projects B3 is another low priced gem). Front End Audio shipped in a day, very well packaged, and the price was excellent.
