Antelope Zen Studio Audio Interface

Antelope Zen Studio Audio Interface, the first professional portable solution with 12 mic pres, 20 analog ins and 14 outs, DSP effects and 24 channel low-latency PC & Mac connectivity!

Antelope Zen Studio Details

The Antelope Audio Zen Studio is the first professional portable interface solution with 12 mic pres, 20 analog ins and 14 outs, DSP effects and 24 channel low-latency PC & Mac connectivity. Zen Studio provides studio quality and functionality in a sleek easy to carry box and is THE professional, portable audio interface with the most competitive analog and digital connectivity.

The 12 world-class mic pres, Antelope's signature clocking, the on-board DSP effects with multiple monitor mixers and the proprietary low-latency USB connectivity make Zen a world-class mobile recording system, that can easily fit inside a backpack or gear bag. Zen Studio is designed to meet the needs of the modern day producer or engineer on-the-go, as well as location sound engineers, sound designers, independent bands and musicians in search of greater sound quality and flexibility.

Proven technologies for supreme audio

Antelope Audio Acoustically Focused Clocking provides the most authentic analog sounding A/D & D/A conversion on the market. Antelope's clocking and conversion along with the custom USB technology implemented in Zen are identical to the ones in the top-selling 32-channel Orion interface which is a centerpiece in the playback rigs for artists such as Rihanna, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, and inside the mixing and mastering studios of engineers like Eric Sarafin (aka Mixerman), Brian Vibberts, Howie Weinberg or electronic music producers like Robert Babicz and Dusty Kid.

Intuitive control and signal routing bringing unique versatility

Zen Studio is fully controllable using an intuitive desktop application on both PC and Mac, offering flexible signal routing and DSP-based effects alongside custom presets. Users can create up to four independent, zero-latency mixes assignable to any outputs, including the two independent headphone outputs and monitor outputs. All audio I/O is available simultaneously for a total of 38 possible input and 32 output channels, plus 24 simultaneous I/O channels via custom USB, supporting 24-bit, 192 kHz audio.

DSP effects and flexibility to enable creative audio production

In addition to proven sound quality, Zen Studio offers an extremely powerful DSP, based on a custom FPGA device with massive parallel processing capabilities. The proprietary FPGA makes the DSP chip in Zen Studio eight times more powerful than the ones used in similar devices. This allows fast and easy simultaneous processing of multiple effects, enhancing the workflow like no other device on the market.

Kills February 29, 2016
Reviewer: Jordan Voth from Winnipeg, MB Canada
I've done live records with this and a laptop. I've stuffed it in my backpack and gone to other provinces and made records with it. The pres are neutral, clear and quiet. Having the digitally controlled mic amps is a god send for recalling gain structures, having 12 mic pres allows me do so much more than the usual 8. Very good buy.

It Ain't Subtle November 13, 2015
Reviewer: Mojo Bone from Lafayette, IN United States
Normally, swapping in a preamp/clock/converter buys a subtle improvement over prosumer gear, starting at about $1K/channel, but in upgrading all 3 with Antelope's Zen Studio, I'm thrilled at the improvement in my tracks/ability to hear them. The focus, clarity and detail is stunning. Then, consider that the Zen has 12 preamps and up to 24 simultaneous channels; at $100/channel, it may seem foolish to buy anything else, but there are caveats. You can't rackmount it without a kit, taking up TWO rackspaces, cuz the unit runs hot, and some features are frustratingly difficult to access-a digital mixer with compression, EQ and reverb, which SO far can only be controlled with...a mouse. There is also no manual; just a quick start guide on the website and mention of a DAW plugin that will allow access to the goodies from within your DAW, at some point. There is also no provision for a control surface; a shame, cuz the unit itself provides a total of three buttons and one knob.
