One of the most unique and most versatile mics in the Apex line is the APEX 130 surface mount condenser microphone. The APEX130 is a low profile condenser boundary microphone designed for conference rooms, council chambers, church pulpits or lecterns. It also has been found to be an ideal solution for reinforcing or recording stage plays, orchestral and operatic performances or dance performances where the sound of the stage is as important to the audience as the music.

It has found itself to be the microphone of choice for live sound reinforcement or recording instruments like grand pianos, in some bass drums or around percussion sections. It is also ideal for any and all broadcast applications where full and natural room sound is a necessity.

The distinct advantage of the APEX 130 is apparent when mounted on a large flat surface. Direct and reflected sound arrive at the diaphragm in phase. This means that the directionality of the microphone is increased, the user sees more gain before feedback and increased suppression of unwanted ambient noise. The superior design of the APEX 130 means phase coherency up to the highest frequencies resulting in wide, smooth frequency response and increased sensitivity.

High Quality, low cost July 1, 2009

We needed good quality sound pickup for village meetings and with a small village budget this seemed impossible. The APEX 130 was the solution. With minus 68 dB sensitivity, 65 dB SNR and its quality and low cost compared to similar microphones at twice the cost made it our choice. Hoping it would perform as its specifications described and with above average technical help from our knowledgeable salesman at Pro End Audio we purchased the Apex 130 and a low cost mixer. Placing 1 Apex 130 in the center of the 8ft conference table provided live quality recorded sound beyond my wildest expectations. Even trustees facing 180 degrees away from the microphone were recorded legibly and with better quality than a spectator would hear. We have only added a hand microphone for guest speakers.
Front End Audio has been extraordinarily helpful.
Note, We don not use a PA system so feedback was not a consideration
