The Miktek C7e Microphone is a hand-assembled large diaphragm multi-pattern FET microphone that is sure to impress! Offering cardioid, omni and bidirectional pick-up patterns, the C7e is perfect for the most critical listeners and inspires artists to create their best performance.

The Miktek C7e Microphone's pick-up characteristic is selectable; offering cardioid, omni and bidirectional patterns. In addition, the Miktek C7e Microphone employs a high-pass filter and -10dB pad for recording loud sound sources. The frequency response is warm on the bottom and silky-sweet on the top, yet at the same time, the midrange is natural and open. The Miktek C7e Microphone produces amazing results when recording acoustic instruments, guitar amps, or as overheads on a drum kit. But of course, the Miktek C7e really excels on vocal applications.

The Miktek C7e Microphone utilizes the new MK7 capsule developed by Miktek engineers, featuring dual 1-inch diaphragms made using 5-micron Mylar with a 0.4-micron layer of evaporated gold. Diaphragms are then precisely tensioned, mounted to carefully- tuned backplates, and finally set back-to-back, with electronic isolation, to create the finished capsule. The head amplifier has been designed around the AMI T7 transformer and, together with the implementation of high-quality components including hand-selected transistors, offers a sweet response reminiscent of highly desirable vintage microphones. In addition, the innovated head amplifier design features a unique circuit that allows the engineer to switch the capsule bias voltage from +44 to +60 volts. This proprietary circuit implementation essentially provides the mic with two voices; allowing you to choose between a classic and modern microphone. At +44 volts the capsule's diaphragm is under less tension, so it's able to react to extremely subtle changes in sound pressure; enabling the microphone to capture the slightest nuances in any performance. When the bias voltage is set to +60 volts, the Miktek C7e is extremely accurate and articulate.

The Miktek C7e Microphone is hand assembled, tested and packaged in Nashville, Tennessee, USA using components from the US, Europe and Asia. Each microphone includes its serialized frequency response graph created during final testing.

Quality mic at a great price!
    Ryan Hubener

I am extremely impressed with the transient response of this microphone. When applied to percussive/drum recordings, you'll hear more snap and immediacy to the sound. It's also a good choice for vocals when you want a very in-your-face sound. The price is well worth it. I now have a stereo pair. Thanks Front End Audio!

    Adam Smith

Not only is this a great mic but its a great price as well. Solid build with a nice mount and case. Plus you essentially get two mics since you can change the bias. It's got vintage mic character but still has top end without being brittle.

    new favourite
    Mark Davies

Just finished the first session recording male pop vocals with this mic. Purchased on FEA's recommendation & "again" I'm not disappointed. Started the session with an AKG C414XLII which didn't quite suit his voice or the song. Bypassed the valve mics & pre's, & plugged the Miktek C7 in to a Speck Electronics Mic Pre 5.0. Sounded OK, but still lacked something special for this song. Switched the mic to +60v, & the pre amp to active output, quickly & easily enhancing the clarity & detail. This was just what the singer wanted to hear, which got me some very happy new customers. Vocal take sat in the mix nicely with no eq, which made my job easy. Too good for the price !! Thanks again for the expert advice, FEA !!!

    Miktek C7 is fantastic
    Rick Tetzlaff

This mic is everything I wanted in a large diaphragm condenser. Plus, the internal switch that changes the capsule's voltage from 48 to 60 volts produces a remarkable change in color and clarity. I am so glad I bought it, it really does a great job with everything I've thrown at it. Thanks to Ryan for the expert advice.
