    great for podcast

I use this mic for my youtube videos and I love it. Didn't want to spend the price tag of a RE20. This mic will give you that broadcast sound for an affordable price.

BARGAIN Broadcast or Spoken Word Mic!
Dee Lee Cee, voice guy and trainer

Rich sound, slight presence peak, SMOOVE and nice proximity effect. Real cardioid pattern (useful in a radio studio or large voc-booth) and no noise of its own. Good enough to replace the "usual suspect" EV, Heil and Shure broadcast mics so everyone has a good mic and it isn't stupidly expensive at all. Super long warranty, great build quality... nice! USE A REAL SHOCKMOUNT. There is no lo-cut filter, so... My preamp has it, but it should be in the mic. That's the only "missing" feature. Beauty mic, Rode, at a beauty price!

This is a bargain microphone, the EV-RE20 Killer!
    Rev. David Lee

Condensers are too crispy for my voice. I used an old ATM25, quiet and fat. Everyone likes it. For spoken voice the RE20's a good mic but big$$. Here's Rode Procaster, the EV-killer! Less thump, shmoov mids, gentle highs, I bring it now. Folks with RE20's note the smooth, rich sound withou big pop or ess. Some just smile, "Yep, good mic!" Side addressed it's quiet enough to take eq-ing up for characters, it's well made, s/n'd, LONG-warranted, low handling noise, has exc side rejection. Procaster has been beauty on my show and guests lust for it! I've read reviews by studios using the Procaster as their main workhorse mics for guitar, amps, vocals, and it's "cheap." Well made and looks "like" but "not like" the RE20, it's no secret anymore. Rode have always had trouble with demand for this great mic so it may be back-ordered. Bear that in mind. It's worth waiting. Rode's Gold Dot is a sign of value, Procaster included!!
